My Morning Routine

Every school day starts the same way for Jay. Jay's alarm beeps at seven o'clock. He gets out of bed and washes his face. Jay brushes his teeth for two minutes. He puts on clean clothes and ties his shoes. Mom packs a lunch in a blue box. Jay eats cereal and drinks milk at the table. Then he grabs his backpack and walks to the bus stop with Dad.

At the Grocery Store

Lin and her dad push a cart through the grocery store. They need milk, bread, and apples. Lin reads the signs above each aisle. The fruit aisle smells sweet. Lin picks three red apples and puts them in a bag. Dad finds a loaf of whole wheat bread. They wait in line to pay. Lin helps place items on the counter. Dad uses a card to pay. They carry bags to the car together.
