The Silly Hat

It was Spirit Day at school, and each kid could wear something fun. Ben found a bright red hat with long silver stripes and a pom-pom on top. When he walked into class, the pom-pom bobbed with every step. During reading time, the hat slid over his eyes and he read the wrong line aloud. The class giggled, but Ben bowed like a magician and fixed the hat. At recess, the wind almost carried the hat away, and Ben chased it across the field. He decided silly hats were wonderful, as long as you could still see where you were going.

Max and the Missing Sock

Max needed clean socks before soccer practice, but one sock was missing. He looked under his bed and inside the laundry basket. Nothing appeared except a dusty toy car. Max checked the dryer and found the sock stuck to the back of his striped shirt. He laughed so hard that his little sister came to see what was funny. Max put on both socks and tied his shoes just in time. He told his sister to always look inside shirts before panicking about lost socks.
